Arriving at DCA
Your flight is tracked from departure, not from the time you booked. If you land forty minutes late, the car is forty minutes later — you do not need to call, and the delay does not cost you anything inside the free wait window.
You can be met curbside on the arrivals level, or your chauffeur can wait inside near baggage claim with a name sign. The first 60 minutes of wait time run from actual touchdown, which is normally enough to clear the aircraft and collect bags.

Departing from DCA
Reagan National splits departures between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and which one you need depends on your airline rather than your destination. Tell dispatch the airline when you book and your chauffeur takes you to the right curb instead of the terminal most people assume.
For a domestic departure, plan to be at the terminal about two hours out, then work backwards from your drive. From Arlington that is a short window; from Rockville or Reston at rush hour it is a much longer one.
Getting to DCA across the river
Two crossings carry most DCA traffic from the District: the 14th Street Bridge and the George Washington Parkway. Both slow considerably on weekday evenings, which is why a four-mile trip can take fifteen minutes or forty depending on the hour. From Virginia, the GW Parkway runs straight to the terminals.
