Dulles (IAD) Airport Transfers & Limo Service

The long-haul and international gateway, out past the toll road.

Dulles sits well west of the city and serves most of the region’s international and long-haul flying. For the western suburbs it is the closer airport by a wide margin; from downtown DC it is a genuine drive.

Come out to the upper ramp — this is the one to remember

Dulles has two arrival levels, and this is where most first-time pickups go wrong. Come out to the upper ramp, the middle level. That is where your chauffeur will meet you.

Once you are outside, call your chauffeur on the direct number we text you the day before — or dispatch on (202) 766-7518 — and give the door number you are at and the colour of what you are wearing. Your chauffeur is already waiting in the cell phone waiting area and reaches you in about five minutes.

If you find yourself on the wrong level, stay on the phone and say so. It is a short correction, not a lap of the airport, because the car has not left the cell lot for the wrong door.

Why Dulles takes longer than the map suggests

The drive is only half the trip. Dulles has a long approach road, a main terminal separated from the midfield concourses, and an AeroTrain ride between them. Getting from the curb to a C or D gate takes real minutes on top of your drive, which is why we build a wider margin into IAD departures than DCA ones.

Arrivals and international flights

The same policy applies as at Reagan National: live flight tracking, sixty minutes of complimentary wait from actual landing, and an optional meet & greet inside. For international arrivals, immigration and customs sit inside that free window — your chauffeur is watching the flight, not a clock that started when you booked.

Most arrivals into the region land between about 2:00 and 4:30 in the afternoon, and bags come off slower in that window because the flights land together. On an international arrival that stacks on top of immigration, so give dispatch your flight number and let the tracking do the work.

Getting to Dulles

The Dulles Toll Road is the main artery, and it is generally more predictable than the Beltway. From Reston or Herndon this is a short run. From McLean and Tysons it is comfortable. From downtown DC, Bethesda or Silver Spring, plan on the better part of an hour before traffic.
